UAE will temporarily accept 5,000 evacuated Afghan people
The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a statement on the 20th local time, stating that at the request of the United States, the UAE agreed to temporarily accept 5,000 Afghan people evacuated from the Afghan capital Kabul, and then send them to other countries as planned. The statement stated that in the next few days, the evacuees will arrive in the UAE from Kabul on a U.S. evacuation flight.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated in a statement that the UAE has recently provided domestic airports as a transit to assist dozens of evacuation flights from various countries, and has also used its aircraft and airports to evacuate approximately 8,500 foreign citizens from Afghanistan.
