Warm Up
Welcome the students to the class and write name-tags for each person.

Introduce yourself and then ask students to introduce themselves. Ask them to tell you their favorite place

Separate the students into 2-3 teams.
Title Page
Ask some warm up questions about the home page to gauge the students English level. For example ‘Do you know the story of Wing Chun?’, ‘Where is Shaolin Temple?’, What do people do at Shaolin temple?’.

New Words
Introduce the new words to the students and see if any of them already know any of the new words.

Read the sentence aloud to the students.

Use the word to make a new sentence.
用新单词组句。
Ask the students to make their own sentence with the word.

Story Time
Play the whole story once through and ask the students to listen to it.
播放整个课文语音让学生听。
Ask the students to read through by paragraph, correcting if any mistakes.

After reading go back to each page and ask questions about the content. For example ‘Who will she ask to teach her Kung Fu?

After reading the story you can ask ‘Have you ever taken a difficult test’ and ‘Do you think the monks are being mean to Mui? Why or why not?’..

Ask them one by one to come up and answer the questions about the story.

Language Structure
Listen to the language structure patterns.

Ask the students to create their own sentences using the ‘better than’ and ‘best’ structure.

Activities
Work through the 3 ‘unscramble the sentence’ activities, asking each student to come up and answer. Other students can offer advice if needed.

Final Review
At the end of the demo class, have the students do a final review of the new words. Ask them Get the students to produce each of the words on their own. This shows the parents that within 45 minutes, the teacher is able to get the students to retain some of the class content.

Proper preparation prevents poor performance - know your content.
